The Connection

News from the Anglican churches of Castle Camps, Shudy Camps and Horseheath

March 2015

Last month, Lindi Kent wrote about the challenges that currently face our local parish churches as clergy and other long-term supporters have moved away.

This is a time to go "back to basics" and reflect on why we really bother spending so much time, effort and money keeping our churches going. Are we really doing anything more than stopping three ancient monuments falling down and keeping services going for a small number of "regulars"?

Yes we are! Experience teaches us that individual, family and community life is often mysterious, difficult, uncertain, painful and messy. The church exists to keep alive the message of its founder that God understands and has shared these life experiences, accepts us despite the faults and weaknesses we have that often cause us problems and actively helps us become the best we can be, if we let him.

This is what the church is really here for, and I hope will continue to be for generations to come. You are warmly welcomed to join us as we try to understand these difficult issues which affect us all.
